Staff Accountant

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and able to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment. (Source: Q1  Demand for Skilled )

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.

+ Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and other financial records on a regular basis.

+ Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.

+ Support preparation of financial statements and internal reports.

+ Analyze variances and help resolve discrepancies in account balances.

+ Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules, as needed. Based on general knowledge.

+ Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll-related accounting support when required.

+ Help ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.

+ Support internal and external audit requests by gathering documentation and preparing schedules.

+ Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
