Controller - Logistics & Freight Forwarding | 100% Onsite

Our client, a rapidly growing logistics organization, is seeking a Controller to help support a growing company while strengthening the finance and accounting and developing a team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, hands-on environment and is looking for a role that offers both challenge and growth.

Experience with in a freight forwarding, logistics, transportation, or supply chain organization is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

+ Manage the full-cycle accounting process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

+ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.

+ Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and account analysis.

+ Lead month-end and year-end close activities while ensuring deadlines are met.

+ Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash activity to support effective cash management.

+ Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

+ Maintain strong internal controls and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency.

+ Partner with operations and leadership to provide financial insights and support business decisions.

+ Assist with clearing accounting backlogs while helping establish scalable processes to support the company's continued growth.

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

+ 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

+ Experience in the freight forwarding, logistics, transportation, or distribution industry strongly preferred.

+ Strong knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, financial reporting, and ERP systems.
