Tax Accountant — Tax Leaf

Tax Leaf is looking for a detail-oriented, experienced Tax Accountant to join our team. You'll specialize in tax preparation for individuals and businesses, making sure every return complies with federal, state, and local regulations. This role is a great fit for someone analytical and organized who can juggle multiple clients and deadlines with confidence.

• Prepare and file individual and business tax returns, including multi-state filings
• Handle bookkeeping and prepare financial statements
• Analyze financial statements to support accurate filings
• Support and assist the company's CPA
• Manage client paperwork from intake to filing
• Communicate with clients by email, phone, and in person
• Use Leafnet to manage clients, place orders, apply payments, and document interactions
• Contact governmental offices and coordinate with internal departments
• Maintain accurate task and database reports
• Keep all company and client information confidential

• Hands-on tax preparation experience
• Solid knowledge of individual and business tax returns
• Bookkeeping experience
• Financial statement preparation and analysis
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish: speaking, writing, and reading
• Proficiency in tax software (e.g., Ultra Tax), Microsoft Excel, Office, and Teams
• 2–3 years in tax preparation or public accounting
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• CPA or EA certification
• Experience with small business returns and multi-state filings

• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Proactive and self-driven, comfortable working without close supervision
• A strong communicator with great interpersonal and customer-service skills
• Ethical and committed to confidentiality
• Able to multitask and meet strict deadlines

Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. Extended hours may be needed during tax season.
