Senior Accountant

Compensation: $105,000 + Bonus

Location: Miami, FL

Position Overview

A global, multibillion-dollar organization is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a fast‑paced, highly transactional, multinational environment while supporting complex accounting operations across finance, operations, and supply chain.

This is not a traditional Senior Accountant role focused solely on journal entries and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical accounting expertise, operational accounting experience, inventory accounting, financial analysis, process improvement, and leadership potential. This position offers a clear career path into an Accounting Supervisor role.

Key Responsibilities Financial & Operational Accounting
  • Manage and own assigned portions of the month‑end close process.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting schedules.
  • Support the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures.
Inventory & Cost Accounting
  • Perform inventory accounting, valuation, reconciliations, reserves, and inventory control analysis.
  • Analyze gross profit performance and investigate operational and inventory variances.
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to improve inventory accuracy and financial reporting.
  • Support cost accounting activities and inventory‑related reporting.
Process Improvement & Systems
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiencies.
  • Participate in automation initiatives, ERP enhancements, and system implementations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the accounting function.
  • Utilize large ERP systems (SAP preferred) to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Finance teams.
  • Assist with financial analysis and operational reporting.
  • Support internal and external audit requests.
  • Collaborate with business partners to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.
Leadership & Development
  • Mentor and support junior accounting staff.
  • Assist with training and knowledge sharing across the accounting team.
  • Demonstrate leadership potential with the opportunity to grow into an Accounting Supervisor position.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong inventory accounting experience, including inventory valuation, reconciliations, reserves, and controls.
  • Experience managing portions of the month‑end close process.
  • Experience performing gross profit analysis and investigating operational variances.
  • Experience working within large, complex organizations.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple business functions.
Preferred
  • Experience with in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, aviation, energy, fuel, or other inventory‑intensive industries.
  • Experience driving accounting process improvements, automation initiatives, or ERP enhancements.
  • Previous experience mentoring or leading junior accounting staff.
  • Exposure to multinational accounting environments.
