Founding Controller-Private equity

Northbound Operating Partners is looking for a highly experienced Founding Controller to help build and lead an accounting shared services function supporting high-growth clients.

This is a local Miami-area leadership role for someone who can combine strong accounting expertise with team development, client-facing delivery, process design, and scalable financial operations.

The ideal candidate will work directly with the CEO to establish financial infrastructure, build and train a specialized accounting team, and deliver high-quality accounting services to clients navigating growth, M&A activity, multi-entity structures, and operational expansion.

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• 2+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role in private equity entities
• Strong U.S. GAAP and multi-entity accounting experience
• Exposure to M&A, acquisitions, integrations, or post-close accounting support
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing accounting teams
• Strong month‑end close, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and reporting experience
• ERP/accounting systems experience — Net Suite, Acumatica, Quick Books, or similar
• Strong Excel skills for reporting, analysis, reconciliations, and financial models
• Excellent written and verbal English communication
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
• Must be based in Miami, FL or within approximately 2 hours of the Miami area

Work model:
Remote/hybrid flexibility may be considered after ramp‑up.

Compensation: USD 8,000 – 18,000/month, depending on experience and credentials.
