Bookkeeper

Description

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial transactions and support accurate financial recordkeeping. This role is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, reconciling accounts, and assisting with payroll and reporting. The ideal candidate is organized, trustworthy, and comfortable handling multiple accounting tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Maintain accurate financial records and update the general ledger

+ Record day-to-day financial transactions, including receipts, payments, and journal entries

+ Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

+ Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other balance sheet accounts

+ Prepare invoices, monitor outstanding balances, and follow up on payments as needed

+ Assist with payroll processing and related recordkeeping

+ Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries

+ Support month-end and year-end close activities

+ Maintain organized accounting files and supporting documentation

+ Help ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls

+ Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal teams regarding account questions and discrepancies

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

+ 2+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related experience preferred

+ Solid understanding of bookkeeping practices and basic accounting principles

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Quick Books, Net Suite, or similar systems

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy

+ Good organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills

+ Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
