Billing Specialist

Position Summary

We are seeking a Billing Specialist to join our team in our Miami office. The Billing Specialist is responsible for the accurate and efficient preparation of bills and invoices for various Billing Professionals.

• Review and bill attorney hours and disbursements to clients
• Review and edit proformas in response to attorney and admin requests
• Apply retainer funds as directed by attorneys
• Process write-offs following firm policy
• Understand exception rates, discounts, and electronic billing
• Electronically submit client invoices
• Research and answer client accounting and billing questions
• Review and enter new clients and matters into the billing system
• Manage a high volume of invoices per month
• Review and verify the accuracy of billing and supporting documentation
• Assist with special projects as assigned
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well under pressure
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter with the ability to successfully adapt to changing priorities and work demands
• Ability to multi-task, organize workflow, and use time efficiently
• Strong attention to detail

• 3+ years of progressive billing experience in a law firm environment preferred
• Experience with Elite/3E accounting software preferred
• Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
• Proficiency with Windows-based software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
