Location:
Midtown Miami (100% in office, not hybrid/remote)
The Staff Accountant II is a mid-level accounting professional responsible for executing a broad range of accounting functions across a multi-entity real estate portfolio. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role performs intermediate-level general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting support, and month-end and year-end close activities.
General Ledger & Month-End Close- Prepares and posts journal entries for multiple entities
- Performs monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, and accruals.
- Supports the month-end and year-end close process in coordination with the Controller and Senior Accountant.
- Researches and resolves reconciling items and account discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintains supporting schedules and work papers for all assigned accounts.
- Assists in the preparation and review of monthly trial balances across all entities.
- Assists in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Compiles financial data and variance analyses to support management reporting and ownership review.
- Prepares property-level financial reports and schedules in coordination with property management and asset management teams.
- Supports the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts by providing historical data and analysis.
- Assists with investor reporting, capital account schedules, and other financial reporting requirements as directed by the Controller.
Education:
- Required:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Preferred:
Progress toward CPA licensure.
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a real estate, property management, private equity, or multi-entity environment.
- Demonstrated experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions preferred.
- Familiarity with real estate accounting concepts including property-level reporting, CAM reconciliations, and tenant ledger management a plus.
