Accounts Payable Lead

A private investment office is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This newly created position will initially focus on owning high-volume Accounts Payable and disbursement activity across a complex, multi-entity environment.

The role is designed to grow beyond AP. The Senior Accountant will gain increasing exposure to journal entries, general ledger accounting, cash activity, internal controls, process improvements, and special projects as the team continues to expand.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who is comfortable starting with a strong AP focus but wants to broaden their responsibilities and develop within a sophisticated private accounting environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage high-volume Accounts Payable across multiple entities.
• Review invoices, approvals, purchase orders, and supporting documentation.
• Process ACH payments, wires, utilities, and urgent payment requests.
• Prepare journal entries and assist with general accounting activities.
• Support process improvements, internal controls, and special projects.
• Take on broader general ledger and accounting responsibilities over time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Five or more years of accounting or audit experience.
• Big Four, national, or regional public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and professional judgment.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
