Accounts Receivable Clerk

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for supporting the organization's cash flow by ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, payment processing, account reconciliation, and collections follow-up. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate professionally with customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and issue customer invoices accurately and on time
• Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, credit card transactions, and electronic transfers
• Monitor accounts to identify outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments
• Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are properly applied
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, short payments, and unapplied cash
• Maintain accurate customer account records and documentation
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, payment status, and account balances
• Assist with collections activities in a professional and timely manner
• Support month-end closing by preparing AR reports, reconciliations, and aging schedules
• Collaborate with accounting, sales, and customer service teams to resolve account issues
• Help improve receivables processes and maintain compliance with company policies
