Staff Accountant

A growing organization is seeking a hands-on Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This role will be heavily focused on account reconciliations and general ledger accounting and is well suited for an accountant who enjoys working directly in the details while contributing to an active accounting function.

The position offers a hybrid schedule with four days in the office and one day remote, typically Friday.

• Perform high-volume account and balance sheet reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies.
• Support general ledger accounting activities and maintain accurate account balances.
• Prepare and post journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Review account activity for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification.
• Maintain schedules and supporting documentation for assigned accounts.
• Assist with financial reporting and accounting-related requests as needed.
• Support process improvements and maintain strong internal accounting controls.
• Work closely with other members of the accounting and finance team on day-to-day accounting activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Hands-on general ledger accounting and account reconciliation experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statement accounts.
• Ability to research and resolve account discrepancies independently.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Experience with Sage Intacct is a strong plus.
• Public accounting experience is a plus, but not required.
• CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus, but not required.
