About the Role
Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Accounting Manager for an established hospitality organization in Miami Beach, FL. This is an exciting direct-hire, full-time, 100% onsite opportunity for a hands‑on accounting professional with strong hotel/hospitality accounting experience! The Accounting Manager will play an integral role in the property's finance and accounting operations, overseeing financial reporting, internal controls, cash flow, invoicing, reconciliations, and revenue and expense management.
This position will partner closely with the Director of Finance and hotel operations and is ideal for someone who enjoys digging into the details, investigating discrepancies, and collaborating across departments. The organization is open to an experienced Accounting Manager as well as a strong Senior Staff Accountant ready to take the next step into management.

Manage key property accounting functions, including cash flow, receivables, payables, deposits, monthly financial statements, bank and general ledger reconciliations, and accurate recording of hotel revenues and expenses. Manage complex invoicing, including invoicing associated with contracted airline business, and investigate discrepancies by partnering directly with front office and other operational departments. Perform and oversee 2-way and 3-way matching and maintain financial controls related to purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, inventories, payroll, hotel assets, and other property accounting functions.
Analyze financial data and hotel operations to support financial objectives while ensuring compliance with accounting policies, operational taxes, licenses, permits, leases, contracts, and legal agreements. Prepare and support required financial reporting, including A/R and A/P aging, flash reports, payroll reports, and revenue updates, while ensuring reporting deadlines are consistently met. Hire, train, supervise, coach, and develop accounting staff while partnering cross‑functionally with the Director of Finance, front office, Food & Beverage, executive leadership, and other hotel departments.
Progressive hotel/hospitality accounting experience required; candidates may qualify through 6+ years of related progressive experience, a four‑year Accounting/Finance degree plus 2+ years of related experience, or a two‑year degree plus 4+ years of related experience. Strong hands‑on experience with hotel accounting, invoicing, financial reporting, reconciliations, AR/AP, internal controls, and 2-way/3-way matching; airline or other complex contractual invoicing experience is highly desirable.
Oracle experience strongly preferred; experience with Opera VMS, Birch Street, and other hotel‑specific accounting and operational systems is also highly valuable. Experience with in a hotel environment that includes Food & Beverage operations, along with front‑office exposure and the ability to investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies cross‑functionally, strongly preferred. Strong communication, leadership, organization, confidentiality, problem‑solving, and deadline‑management skills; established Accounting Managers and strong Senior Staff Accountants ready to step into management will be considered.
