Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Miami, FL. This role is ideal for a finance and accounting professional with strong leadership skills, hands‑on accounting experience, and a background in budgeting, general ledger, accounts payable, procurement, contracts, and fiscal reporting.

The Accounting Manager will play a key role in overseeing fiscal operations, supporting accurate financial reporting, managing specialized accounting records, and helping leadership make informed financial decisions. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage accounting functions including budgeting, general ledger, accounts payable, contract records, procurement, and property records.
  • Maintain specialized accounting records to track funds received, expenditures, and projected year-end balances.
  • Prepare and review budget requests for State and County fiscal years, including expenditure tracking and management analysis.
  • Oversee invoice payments, contract reporting, purchasing of commodities, and procurement of services.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of vendor contracts, grant agreements, and other contractually binding documents.
  • Perform additional accounting, fiscal, and administrative duties as assigned.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range: $90,000 to $115,000 per year.

    Direct hire.
  • Schedule:

    Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Benefits to include Medical and paid vacation and Holidays.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Manage fiscal and accounting operations across budgeting, accounts payable, general ledger, procurement, and contract records.
  • Prepare, review, and track budgets, expenditures, funding activity, and year-end financial projections.
  • Support vendor contracts, grant agreements, purchasing activity, invoice payments, and financial reporting.
  • Supervise accounting staff or accounting functions while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of work.
  • CPA certificate and at least 3 years of professional accounting experience, including 1 year in a supervisory capacity, or
  • Master’s degree and at least 3 years of professional accounting experience, including 1 year in a supervisory capacity, or
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university with major coursework in finance or accounting and at least 4 years of professional accounting experience, including 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
  • Progressive accounting experience aligned with an Accounting Manager level role.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, expenditure tracking, financial analysis, accounts payable, procurement, and general ledger accounting.
  • Ability to maintain accurate accounting records and support compliance with fiscal policies and reporting requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, professional judgment, and ability to work effectively with management, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of non‑profit or governmental fund accounting.
  • Knowledge of the legislative appropriation process, state budget laws and policies, budget principles, budget categories, and funds.
  • Experience with FLAIR and other auxiliary reporting systems.
  • Ability to interpret and implement CFO, FLAIR, LAS/PBS reports, memorandums, and related fiscal guidance.
