Property Accountant

Our client is seeking an experienced Property Accountant to join their team and play an important role in supporting their real estate portfolio. Property Accountant Responsibilities & Duties

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for multiple properties
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Conduct variance analysis to explain differences between budgeted and actual figures
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
• Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and industry standards
• Coordinate with property managers to address financial queries and issues
• Oversee tenant billing and collections, including rent, utilities, and other charges
• Monitor and manage property cash flows and funding requirements
• Assist in the internal and external audit processes
• Develop and implement accounting procedures and controls to improve efficiency
• Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and real estate industry trends

Property Accountant Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Previous experience in property accounting or real estate finance
