Position: POLICE STAFFING SPECIALIST

This is a responsible administrative position focused on the schedules and timesheets of sworn police personnel.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure minimum staffing levels for patrol units by appropriately staffing each shift.
  • Input, edit, and maintain time sheet data for Patrol Officers in the KRONOS time‑keeping system.
  • Schedule mandatory training sessions and court appearances using the staffing system.
  • Approve time‑off requests for patrol unit officers.
  • Process other personnel actions such as light‑duty transfers, family and/or medical leave, military leave, and pay supplements.
  • Support management initiatives to reduce overtime and increase scheduling efficiency through overtime trend analysis.
  • Prepare and present daily and monthly reports to ensure department staffing and scheduling comply with law‑enforcement and human‑resources guidelines.
  • Collect, compile, analyze, and report on staffing and logistics information, including staffing availability trends, time tracking, overtime, monthly assignment transfers, and quarterly assignment bids.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 60 college credits and two (2) years of experience in operations analysis or personnel staffing logistics.
  • Preferred experience with Oracle, Kronos Workforce, and Tele Staff.
  • Possession of an equivalent combination of education and experience beyond a high‑school diploma or its equivalent, coupled with at least two (2) years of the required experience.
