Position Overview
As a Garage Clerk, you will be responsible for receiving all parts and purchase orders, conducting inventory counts, and managing the timely payment of invoices.
Hours & CompensationMon-Fri, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. $20 per hour.
Responsibilities- Maintain records on destination, weight, and charges for all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Perform data entry, labeling, filing, generate import files, and assist with the tracking and expediting of freight.
- Audit freight and broker invoices and ensure accuracy of rate charges by verifying material classification with rate schedules.
- Monitor pending shipments related to purchase shipping schedules and update the traffic record system.
- Confirm information, provide product details, resolve problems, determine shipping method, ship items, and maintain records.
- Scan or hand-enter shipment information into a computer system.
- Enter incoming and outgoing freight data (destination, weight, route, initiating department, charges) into the record system.
- Computer and data entry skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Physical abilities: reaching, sitting, stooping, walking, bending, twisting, carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, handling paperwork, typing, and gripping items ranging from under 20 lbs to over 60 lbs.
- Communication, teamwork, attention to detail, organization, technology use, adaptability, self‑drive, multitasking, and problem‑solving skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
- Years of experience: 1–2 years relevant experience.
