Duties- Assists the Program Manager in coordinating administrative support (coordination of scheduling, communication, organization, event planning, file organization, etc) for new and ongoing programs within the Office of Academic Community Programs and Partnerships, including but not limited to STEM Saturdays, Doctors of Tomorrow, Junior Doctors of Tomorrow, and the Albert
E. Dotson Sr. Premedical Program. Provides updates from participants for pathway programs for tracking purposes. - Conducts monthly site visits for STEM Saturdays to monitor program activities, participant and volunteer engagement, and overall site readiness.
- Reviews and updates flyers and related promotional materials. Assists with updating the Academic Community Programs and Partnerships website, as well as the Dotson Program Canvas page and biannual newsletter.
- Works with and/or resides with minors and/or vulnerable persons within their role.
- Performs administrative duties supporting instruction/training, such as the development and editing of materials for events and projects related to Academic Community Programs and Partners.
- Serves as a liaison between program participants and outside parties such as community partners, vendors, government agencies, and administrators.
- Responsible for the credentialing of the community faculty involved in the programs for Academic Community Programs and Partners in conjunction with the leadership team.
- Oversees student activities for accuracy and completeness on a weekly basis and provides updates to their high school administration as needed.
- Provides support to the Program Manager at events and supports the annual summer pathway program event activities.
- Ensures compliance with FIU policies, procedures, and practices with federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties do not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience; OR 5 years of office or related experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Desired Qualifications- Previous experience in an academic or community-based organization.
- Strong writing and editing skills desired.
