The Florida Department of Children and Families is seeking a full-time Interviewing Clerk OPS to join the Economic Self Sufficiency Program Customer Service Centers in Miami-Dade County.
Why This Role MattersInterviewing Clerks are often among the first people customers speak with when seeking public assistance. In this role, you will help gather important information, explain eligibility requirements, identify service needs, and provide respectful assistance to customers by telephone and in Service Center lobbies.

The selected candidate will:
- Interview applicants by telephone and in person to determine their service and public assistance needs
- Assist customers in Service Center lobbies
- Explain public assistance eligibility requirements to applicants and recipients
- Determine eligibility for expedited food stamp services
- Enter client information accurately into a database
- Maintain necessary files, records, and documentation
- Answer telephone calls and obtain or verify eligibility information
- Use computers, photocopiers, scanners, and other office equipment
- Complete general clerical and administrative duties
- Review information for accuracy and completeness
- Plan and organize work to meet eligibility and timeliness requirements
- Detect and evaluate potential fraudulent situations
- Analyze and interpret written, numerical, and verbal information
- A high school diploma or its equivalent and two years of clerical or public contact experience.
- College education from an accredited institution or vocational/technical training may substitute at the rate of 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or 720 classroom hours for each year of the required experience.
- Bilingual and able to speak, read, and write in the Spanish and English languages.

This is an OPS position paid at $16.71 per hour and scheduled for full-time hours.
