Apprentice Technician
Apprentice Technician role is designed for individuals who are either currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from a technical school and have little to no prior work experience in the automotive industry. This position provides hands‑on training under the supervision of experienced technicians while working towards OEM certifications and mastery of essential automotive repair and maintenance skills.
Duties & Responsibilities- Assist experienced technicians in performing vehicle repairs and maintenance services in accordance with OEM standards.
- Learn and develop diagnostic skills to accurately identify vehicle issues.
- Perform basic services, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and battery replacements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and dealership policies.
- Complete assigned training and obtain necessary OEM certifications as required.
- Follow dealership and manufacturer guidelines for documentation and repair order processing.
- Uphold high‑quality workmanship and customer satisfaction standards.
- Adhere to safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Enrolled in or recently completed an accredited automotive technical program.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic understanding of automotive tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, and reaching.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Requires full range of motion, including working in tight spaces and underneath vehicles.
- Exposure to loud noises, fumes, and potentially hazardous materials; proper PPE required.
- Work is performed in a dealership service department with exposure to mechanical equipment, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
- Fast‑paced environment with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Requires teamwork and adaptability to changing workloads and schedules.
