As a Body Shop Technician Apprentice at Bomnin Automotive, you will embark on a rewarding career path in the automotive repair industry. Under the guidance of experienced technicians and with the support of our team, you will learn and develop the skills necessary to become a proficient Body Shop Technician. This hands‑on training opportunity will provide you with the knowledge and expertise needed to repair and restore vehicles to their pre‑accident condition.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in structured training programs designed to teach the fundamentals of body repair and refinishing.
- Assist experienced Body Shop Technicians with vehicle repairs and refinishing processes.
- Learn to use and maintain various hand and power tools, as well as specialized equipment used in body repair work.
- Assist in inspecting damaged vehicles and identifying the necessary repair procedures.
- Prepare vehicles for repair work, including disassembly, masking, and cleaning.
- Learn the art of paint mixing and color matching to achieve a seamless finish.
- Develop skills in repairing damaged vehicle panels, including straightening and welding.
- Gain proficiency in the refinishing process, including priming, painting, and clear‑coating.
- Assist in quality control checks to ensure all repairs meet industry standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of repair work and materials used.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a secure working environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical aptitude and a strong interest in automotive repair.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting and carrying heavy objects.
- Standing for extended periods, bending, lifting heavy objects, and performing manual labor.
- Exposure to dust, chemicals, and noise typical of a body shop environment.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed by the employer.
- Reports to the Body Shop Manager and the Service Operations Director.
- Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship program, you will have the opportunity to become a full‑fledged Body Shop Technician at Bomnin Automotive.
The employment relationship between the Body Shop Technician Apprentice and Bomnin Automotive is "at‑will." This means that either the associate or the employer may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. This job description does not create a contract of employment, implied or otherwise, and the Body Shop Technician Apprentice is not guaranteed employment for any specified period.
