Procurement Officer
Opa Locka Area
$65,000 - $72,000
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Officer to oversee and manage all purchasing and supply chain activities. This role is responsible for ensuring timely procurement of materials and services while maintaining cost efficiency, quality standards, and strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, direct, and control activities related to the procurement function
- Maintain inventory of listed items, track availability, and prepare reports as needed
- Prepare delivery schedules and monitor against production plans to ensure material availability; report any issues
- Utilize effective negotiation and purchasing strategies to maximize cost savings and company benefit
- Recruit, evaluate, and maintain supplier relationships while upholding high ethical standards; manage the Approved Supplier List (ASL)
- Obtain competitive quotes for products and services as required
- Prepare contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal review and compliance with specifications
- Issue purchase orders and change notices for raw materials, equipment parts, and office supplies
- Oversee procurement activities from purchase intent through delivery; ensure purchase orders are processed and closed accurately
- Track vendor performance, including on-time deliveries
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between supplier invoices and purchase orders
- Enter records of received materials into the system daily
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
- Participate in monthly inventory counts of materials and equipment parts
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Excellent organizational and analytical abilities
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
