Role Summary
Manages and develops a segment of the portfolio to deepen customer relationships and grow accounts through strategic planning. Acts as trusted advisor to accounts in the portfolio, takes ownership of customer problems, leads internal and external solutions, and may lead contract negotiations for smaller accounts. Shares best practices across teams and regions.
Responsibilities- Establishes new and fosters existing trusted relationships with key decision makers and influencers on customer accounts.
- Contributes ideas on creating business opportunities (e.g., progress meetings, fact‑finding/exploratory meetings) to strengthen and grow customer accounts.
- Identifies signals that a customer may need additional products or services and navigates the appropriate channels to ensure recovery of important account business issues.
- Creates and manages dynamic local, regional, or chain‑level account plans based on understanding of customer needs and industry trends, prioritizing time according to account value or likelihood of success.
- May develop market/territory plans, represent the company at industry events, or build the company profile in a location.
- Demonstrates understanding of the organization’s business model, operations, financial performance, and key success factors.
- Applies awareness of policies, trends, competitors, and partner relationships to anticipate and plan project steps.
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of the financial impact of decisions and how the role contributes to positive outcomes.
- Prepares and articulates business issues limiting the team’s effectiveness and helps develop rationales for addressing them.
- Assists in identifying and analyzing potential solutions, including cost/benefit and risk, and documents the business case for change.
- Uses market dynamics to spot trends, influencing customer decisions and business outcomes.
- Explains company contract terms to customers, asks probing questions, and builds relationships with legal resources to develop appropriate contract terms.
- Negotiates simple or short‑term contracts with senior staff support and replaces them with complex multi‑year contracts where appropriate.
- Delivers compelling rationale, gains support, resolves issues, and influences outcomes through effective negotiation tactics.
- Aligns products, technology, and offerings to account and market needs, driving strong business results.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of company products, technologies, and services, while staying aware of competitors’ strengths and weaknesses.
- Builds relationships with key individuals within the team, department, and organization, and across industry outside the account.
- Supports interpretation of data relative to product, service, and solution performance versus customer expectations.
- Provides continuous input to senior management for scalable process improvement.
- Experience:
5+ years with a bachelor’s degree or 3+ years with a master’s degree; or equivalent education. - Functional / Technical
Skills:
proficiency in English and the local language of the market(s) where applicable; impactful communicator; expertise in sales techniques, portfolio management, negotiation with directors and C‑suite, cross‑selling, and managing operational complexity.
Salary range (Miami): $ to $, with potential total compensation up to $ based on performance. Incentive plan offers additional earnings above target.
