The Manager, Strategic Sourcing - Indirect (e.g., Retail, Entertainment, Professional Services, Marketing, HR) will lead and manage efforts to secure optimal sourcing opportunities with local and regional impacts. This role aims to deliver value, drive savings, increase efficiency, assure supply, and mitigate supply chain risks. The Manager will act as a strategic partner who listens to understand business needs, plan and implement sourcing initiatives, and ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.

The Manager, Strategic Sourcing – Indirect is responsible for ensuring integration of the procurement/sourcing policy and utilizing a strategic sourcing process that includes but is not limited to a rigorous market/region analysis, supplier risk analysis, and baseline spend analysis, to generate options and document a strategic sourcing plan that may include RFP execution, negotiations with suppliers, contract execution and implementation, and monitoring of source recommendations.

They will work closely with various functional stakeholder groups at the VP and SVP level, providing expertise in effective strategy development, spend management, analysis, and negotiation. This role requires someone with leadership experience, business savvy, and the ability to influence spend decisions.

Essential Functions
  • Lead, develop, and implement an integrated strategic process across brands. Work with brand stakeholders and Corporate to identify strategic sourcing opportunities that leverage size and scale to deliver competitive economic advantage while maintaining quality and service levels. Also develop deep spend analysis by commodity, vendor and/or SKU to create sourcing strategies.
  • Manage Strategic Sourcing Initiatives. Utilize market/region analysis, supplier risk analysis, baseline spend analysis, RFP execution, formal negotiation strategy, contracting and implementation, and monitoring of source recommendations. Negotiate multi-million-dollar contracts on behalf of Carnival engaging with suppliers at the COO and CEO level.
  • Manage Contracts and Key Supplier Relationships. Oversee contract administration and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
  • Collaborate with brand stakeholders and corporate teams. Responsible for managing the category portfolio and overseeing significant spend in Opex/Cap Ex. Develop and implement multi-year growth plans for categories, stay commercially aware of market trends, and manage suppliers to ensure continuous flow of products/services.
  • Deliver Results to Performance Goals. Measure hard savings, cost avoidance, supplier diversity and sustainability.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Leadership and Influence. Demonstrate leadership by partnering and collaborating with product developers and key suppliers, persuading, influencing, and negotiating category strategy and spend decisions across brand levels.
  • Strategic Partnering. Understand business needs, plan and implement sourcing initiatives, and meet project timelines and deliverables.
  • Analytical & Problem Solving. Conduct rigorous market analyses, supplier risk assessments, baseline spend analyses, and develop strategic sourcing plans.
  • Financial & Negotiation Skills. Advanced spreadsheet analysis, financial cost analysis, understanding of spend analytics, eRFX tools, and strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Communication and Collaboration. Strong time-management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; professional conduct, collaboration with colleagues, and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Adaptability in Fast-Paced Environment. Ability to multi-task, prioritize changing workload requests, and work with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Travel & Hospitality, Retail, Supply Chain or related field.
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience in the travel and service industry leading strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Experience leading strategic sourcing within indirect spend categories.
  • Proficiency in market analysis, spend analytics, eRFX, and contingency planning.
  • Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of contracting.
