Responsibilities include coordinating logistical operations, managing end-to-end supply chain activities, and ensuring efficient business operations. Jobpurpose
To oversee the day-to-day commercial and operational activities of dry bulk vessels, ensuring efficient, safe, and professional voyages while maintaining compliance with prevailing charter parties and company policies. The operations candidate should strive for operational excellence and deliver a comprehensive service proposition to key customers that will be deemed as part of the corporate DNA and a key differentiator to the market.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in dry bulk operations, an established network, excellent negotiation skills, and a strong understanding of global shipping markets.
- Maintain systems with up-to-date information on current voyages.
- Instruct and manage vessels on their voyages to ensure efficient execution.
- Actively monitor voyage performance to address and resolve any operational issues promptly.
- Read, interpret, and ensure compliance with charter party agreements for managed voyages.
- Solve problems quickly and efficiently, while proactively identifying and avoiding potential risks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and agents to deliver high-quality service.
- Cater to individual customer needs with excellence, maintaining a customer-centric approach.
- Collaborate with the commercial team to align operations with client expectations and business goals.
- Be knowledgeable about the company’s regular ports and trades to support operational efficiency.
- Handle all notices promptly and in line with contractual obligations.
- Maintain accurate and timely updates in Voyage Management Systems (VMS) and customer itineraries.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration, economics, or a closely related field, (alternatively 5+ years’ experience in trading, freight or vessel operations).
- Field of Specialisation:
Vessel Operations, Logistics, Freight Management. - Good computer skills (IMOS or equivalent, MS Office – Excel, Outlook).
- Certifications:
Professional certifications in chartering or maritime operations are advantageous.
- English – Fluent (required).
- Additional language proficiency preferred.
- Work Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in vessel operations, trading, or freight management, with proficiency in voyage management systems and charter party agreements.

Experience with voyage management software (e.g., IMOS, SOFTMAR). - Time Management:
Strong ability to prioritise and manage time under tight deadlines. - Detail Orientation:
Accuracy in handling operational data and notices.
