Schedule:
Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
- Oversee daily operations of the main cashier office, monitor staff compliance with policies and procedures related to cash funds and bank deposits in accordance with audit guidelines.
- Work closely with Controller’s Office, banking personnel and merchant services to research discrepancies, reconcile and resolve cashier posting errors, ensuring GL and FRS/DMAS accuracy.
- Inform management of cashier posting errors, resolution of errors and provide documentation for record keeping, training needs and evaluation purposes.
- Prepare and distribute cashier change fund bags, obtain written acknowledgement of receipt from each cashier.
- Open deposit safe each day, retrieve deposits made by individual cashiers.
- Prepare bank deposit for armor truck pick up, logging all deposit bags turned in by each cashier ensuring correct numbers.
- Prepare all required documents for the Accounting department per established policies and procedures.
- Receive change from the armor service representative once per week and make payment for change received the previous week.
- Conduct daily audits of large safe contents and complete audit log.
- Provide new hire and on‑going training related to Front Desk cashiering deposit functions and serve as a resource to all.
- Calculate patient’s estimated responsibility for POS 22 and POS 11, offer payment options, post payments in UChart and issue receipts.
- Reconcile all monies at end of shift and prepare deposits accordingly.
- Recognize internal and external customers in a welcoming, courteous and professional manner; respond to customer needs with empathy, patience and respect.
- Provide immediate service recovery and resolve customer problems using appropriate rationale.
- Meet customers’ expectations, address concerns and provide information needed to customers, including internal and external way‑finding.
- Reduce patient and family stress and increase patient satisfaction by actively participating in providing the best possible patient experience.
- Must function independently and make independent decisions consistent with departmental guidelines/objectives.
- High degree of dependability.
- Ability to work as an integral team member.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to show tolerance, sensitivity and high level of diplomacy when dealing with stressful situations.
- Proven experience with personal computers and Microsoft software.
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- High School Diploma required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - One (1) year relevant experience; experience in a bank or other healthcare related business office setting preferred.
