We are looking to hire a mid-level Contract Specialist that is responsible for supporting post‑award contract administration for aerospace and defense industry programs. This role involves review of contract awards, purchase orders, and modifications while ensuring all contractual obligations are captured, tracked, and executed across departments. The Contract Specialist must have a strong attention to detail and willingness to collaborate cross-functionally.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the full lifecycle of post‑award contract activities, including award intake, internal dissemination, compliance tracking, and closeout
  • Review government awards, purchase orders, and contract modifications to identify all deliverables, reporting requirements, flow‑downs, and compliance obligations
  • Translate contract requirements into internal action items and ensure they are properly entered into our company ERP system
  • Conduct detailed reviews of FAR, DFARS, agency supplements, and customer‑specific terms and conditions to identify risks, obligations, and required flow‑downs
  • Monitor contract performance to ensure adherence to all contractual, regulatory, and quality requirements
  • Prepare and maintain contract summaries, obligation matrices, and compliance checklists
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to ensure all contract requirements are understood and executed
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and government reviews by providing accurate contract documentation
  • Identify contractual risks, ambiguities, or inconsistencies and elevate as appropriate
  • Recommend mitigation strategies and support negotiation of modifications or clarifications when needed
  • Serve as a point of contact for customer contracting officers and subcontract managers on post‑award matters
  • Support communication related to deliverables, reporting, funding status, and contract changes
  • Ability to translate contract requirements into actionable internal tasks
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors Degree required
  • 2‑3 years minimum of experience in U.S. Government contracting
  • Experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and agency‑specific clauses.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting government contracts, POs, and modifications.
  • Ability to translate contract requirements into actionable internal tasks.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
