JLL is seeking an exceptional Associate Vice President to lead transformational real‑estate engagements within our Government, Education and Non‑Profit Advisory group.

Work schedule: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Hybrid – expected to be in office three days per week.

Location: This is a hybrid role with a preference for candidates based in Austin, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, Washington DC, Miami or Denver. Regular in‑office presence is required to develop relationships and foster collaboration. No relocation assistance will be available.

Travel requirements: 25–35% in U.S. – location varies by client.

Strategic Client Counsel and Relationship Leadership
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and produce rigorous client analysis.
  • Translate data into actionable recommendations and build lasting client trust.
  • Communicate complex structures and trade‑offs to C‑suite executives and governing boards.
  • Navigate public‑sector constraints and guide clients to compliant, value‑driven solutions.
Project Strategy and Delivery
  • Design project approaches, set milestones, and ensure deliverable quality.
  • Direct multidisciplinary teams, provide technical direction, and maintain project discipline.
  • Lead strategic meetings with stakeholders, capture commitments, and drive follow‑through.
  • Leverage AI tools strategically to accelerate research and drafting.
Interpretation and Strategic Synthesis
  • Analyze data and synthesize insights to support decision making.
  • Answer the “so what” question by connecting findings to actions.
  • Present clear options with trade‑off analysis and recommendation rationale.
Transaction and Financial Advisory
  • Structure and explain public‑private partnership and other transaction types.
  • Support negotiations with analytical strategy and real‑time counsel.
  • Lead feasibility assessments, including highest‑best‑use studies and portfolio optimization.
Business Development and Thought Leadership
  • Identify new engagement opportunities and build trusted relationships.
  • Lead proposal strategy and RFP responses.
  • Publish white papers, case studies, and conference presentations.
Practice Excellence and Knowledge Leadership
  • Maintain rigorous project setup, budget monitoring, scope management, and invoicing.
  • Document methods, mentor associates, and elevate team expertise.
  • Drive innovation by staying current on transaction, financing, procurement, and public‑sector trends.
Qualifications
  • Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or related field; MBA or Master’s in Real Estate preferred. 7–10 years of progressive experience in commercial real‑estate advisory, finance, or strategic consulting. Demonstrated success leading complex advisory engagements.
  • Strategic and technical capabilities: Ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights; superior communication with C‑suite and governing boards; strong financial analysis; deep understanding of public‑sector real‑estate challenges; knowledge of transaction structures such as P3s, ground leases, and tax‑exempt financing.
  • Valued additional experience: Federal, state, or local government consulting; higher‑education real‑estate strategy; experience navigating complex bureaucracies and political dynamics.
  • Personal attributes: Passion for community impact; executive presence; intellectual curiosity; composure under pressure; growth mindset; collaborative spirit; willingness to travel 25–35 %.
