The Manager, Dry Dock OHS and Certification is responsible for establishing process, overseeing occupational health and safety compliance during dry dock operations, and supporting fleetwide ship certification compliance related to dry docks, ship modifications, and regulatory approvals. This role provides proactive planning, coordination, and execution of safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for shipboard teams, contractors, shipyards, and shoreside stakeholders throughout the dry dock lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
  • Dry Dock Safety Program Governance and Lifecycle Management
    - Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of dry dock occupational health and safety programs across the full project lifecycle. Coordinate with shipboard leadership, shipyards, contractors, consultants, and shoreside stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate risks; establish safety controls; ensure alignment between company and shipyard safety management systems; and provide on-site and remote oversight to verify compliance with Permit to Work requirements, regulatory obligations, and high-risk activity controls.

    Facilitate post-dry dock safety reviews, capture lessons learned, analyze trends, and implement improvements to enhance future dry dock safety performance, standards, procedures, and risk controls.
  • Safety Assurance, Training and Compliance Monitoring
    - Provide safety leadership through workforce engagement, safety briefings, orientations, inspections, audits, incident investigations, and corrective action management. Monitor safety performance and compliance throughout dry dock activities, address deficiencies and non-conformities with relevant stakeholders, and ensure root causes and corrective actions are documented, communicated, and embedded.
  • Ship Certification and Modification Compliance
    - Coordinate ship certification activities and support the review, approval, and documentation of ship modifications associated with dry dock projects. Work with internal stakeholders, classification societies, Flag Administrations, regulatory authorities, shipyards, and contractors to ensure certification requirements, regulatory approvals, and configuration documentation are maintained and completed in accordance with applicable standards and company requirements.
  • Special Safety, Compliance and Risk Reduction Projects
    - Lead or support assigned initiatives and special projects that advance occupational health and safety, ship safety, regulatory compliance, operational risk reduction, or continuous improvement objectives. Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, develop implementation plans, monitor progress, and deliver project outcomes that strengthen safety performance, compliance, operational readiness, and organizational effectiveness across the fleet.
