Role Focus
  • Provide direct service to participants through career planning and job search support.
  • Each member is responsible for tracking and documenting at least 15 hours of career planning and job search skills for a minimum of 20 assigned participants.
  • Emphasis on helping participants graduate program goals, secure employment, or advance their careers.
Key Duties
  • Deliver one-on-one and small-group career advancement sessions.
  • Develop Career Success Plans for participants pursuing jobs or advancement.
  • Monitor, document, and report participant progress with case notes.
  • Connects participants to community resources, agencies, and post-secondary opportunities (referral to supportive services such as transportation, childcare, housing) and to workforce and career services (college, technical training, military, or employment).
  • Conduct classroom instruction on goal setting, financial literacy, and career development. Facilitate workshops on job search skills, résumé building, interview preparation, and workplace professionalism.
  • Provide individualized job coaching support through regular check-ins, goal setting, and motivational guidance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Has not enrolled more than four times in an Ameri Corps State or National Direct Program, or more than five one-year terms for VISTA programs or two terms for NCCC programs.
