Product Manager
The Product Manager is responsible for driving the strategic development, management, and profitability of Goodyear Belts’ Automotive and Industrial Belt product portfolio worldwide. This role owns the product lifecycle from market analysis, competitive benchmarking, product definition, sourcing support, validation, launch, catalog management, and ongoing portfolio optimization.
Working closely with Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, and Global Sourcing teams, the Product Manager ensures the Goodyear Belts portfolio remains technically competitive, commercially attractive, and aligned with customer needs across automotive aftermarket, industrial distribution, OEM, and international markets.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute product strategies for Automotive and Industrial Belt product lines.
- Identify market opportunities through customer feedback, competitive analysis, industry trends, and market data.
- Build and maintain long‑term product roadmaps.
- Identify product gaps and expansion opportunities globally.
- Define specifications for new products and product improvements.
- Lead new product introduction (NPI) projects from concept through commercialization.
- Coordinate product validation, testing, and launch activities.
- Support sourcing teams in identifying and qualifying manufacturing partners.
- Manage the complete Automotive and Industrial Belt product portfolio.
- Prioritize application coverage based on market demand and revenue potential.
- Monitor product lifecycle, identifying products for expansion, improvement, or discontinuation.
- Ensure product information remains accurate across ERP, PIM, ACES, PIES, and catalog systems.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, competitive products, and pricing.
- Analyze customer requirements across automotive aftermarket, industrial distribution, OEM, agriculture, heavy‑duty, HVAC, lawn & garden, and power transmission markets.
- Partner with Sales to support major customer opportunities.
- Work with Marketing on product positioning, technical literature, catalogs, and launch materials.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain on inventory planning and sourcing strategies.
- Support international product expansion initiatives.
- Monitor KPIs including:
- Gross Margin
- Product Coverage
- New Product Introductions
- Product Availability
- Inventory Performance
- Present quarterly business reviews and product performance recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field.
- MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of Product Management experience, preferably within:
- Bearings
- Motion Control
- Mechanical Components
- OEM
Experience with both automotive and industrial products is strongly preferred.
Technical KnowledgeCandidates should possess knowledge in one or more of the following:
- Automotive accessory drive systems
- Variable speed belts
- Power transmission products
Experience with:
- ACES
- PIES
- ERP systems
- Product Information Management (PIM)
- Master Data Management (MDM)
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
