Position

EARLY HEAD START CREDENTIALED CHILDCARE TEACHER ASSOCIATE - FULL-TIME (ages Infant‑Toddler up to
3)

Location

Gerry Sweet Center, 351 NW 5th St, Miami FL, 33128

Schedule

Daytime, Monday thru Friday, 40 hours per week, schedule mostly from 8:00am to 5:30pm (staggered shifts), totalling 8 hours per day, year round

Rate of Pay

New Rate of Pay: $16.89 per hour

Qualifications / Certifications
  • FCCPC Birth – Five certification, or CDA certification in Infant‑Toddler, DCF Staff Verification Birth‑Five required
  • DCF 45 hr. training certificates required
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Red Cross First Aid & CPR certificate; certificate of good health and completed TB test required
  • Minimum 1 year in childcare services
  • 15 hours in‑service training annually thereafter
  • Requires fingerprints, level 2 criminal background check, and drug test
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement individualized, developmentally appropriate, nurturing care for infants and toddlers in a center‑based setting
  • Coordinate use of community resources to enrich the learning environment
  • Support program philosophy that parents are the primary educators and nurturers of their children
  • Enhance the relationship of parents and their children by encouraging parent participation
  • Oversee and assist with classroom cleanup and follow universal precautions daily
  • Assist children in transitioning beginning and end of each day and during field trips
  • Maintain program standards regarding confidentiality and professional boundaries

Requirements
