Flagger, Construction, Estimator

Roadway Construction, LLC is an established and growing civil/highway general contractor based in South Florida. We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Construction Estimator to join our team.

This position is responsible for leading the estimating process on a wide range of public and private infrastructure projects
, including drainage, water/sewer utilities, earthwork, grading, paving, and roadway construction. The ideal candidate has strong experience with FDOT standards and contract documents and takes full ownership of the estimating process from bid review through project turnover.

• Analyze plans, specifications, & biddocuments to ensure complete scope coverage
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for labor, equipment, and materials
• Develop competitive and accurate unit pricing and bid strategies
• Solicit, evaluate, and level vendor and subcontractor quotes
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities
• Interpret and apply FDOT design standards, specifications, and contract requirements
• Ensure compliance with all applicable state, county, and municipal bid requirements
• Review special provisions, pay items, and contract terms to ensure full inclusion in estimates
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required
• Communicate with owners, engineers, & subcontractors to clarify scope & resolve discrepancies
• Participate in bid reviews and final pricing discussions with leadership
• Prepare complete and organized bid packages for turnover to project management

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (preferred)
• Minimum 3–7+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction
• Strong knowledge of:
  Earthwork, utilities (water/sewer/drainage), and roadway construction;
  Job costing and production rates; and FDOT specifications and contract documents
• Proficiency in HCSS (Heavy Bid or similar estimating software) and/or Primavera P6
• Proven ability to manage multiple bids and tight deadlines
• High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
