Position
The Project Engineer will work in our Miami, FL office, report to FBC’s senior management team, champion a team environment, and oversee and manage the construction process from the pre‑construction phase through closeout.
Responsibilities- Setting up project files and coordinating the flow of information (specifications, plans, transmittals, purchase orders, changes, etc.)
- Drafting and finalizing subcontracts and change orders to be reviewed and executed by the project managers
- Updating our portal system as information is received, ensuring all necessary information is complete, correct, organized, and accessible
- Maintaining logs for subcontracts, purchase orders, certificates of insurance, potential and actual change orders and plans
- Scheduling and tracking delivery of materials/supplies and equipment, ensuring on‑time delivery to our project sites
- Preparing closeout documents, subcontractor warranties, supplier warranties, operation and maintenance manuals, as‑built drawings, and other items specific to the client, and conducting closeouts in a timely manner
- Attending meetings with FBC leaders and others to discuss project status, subcontracts, purchase orders, open items, and other job‑related tasks
- Addressing and resolving issues related to the project in a timely manner and proactively seeking input from others in the organization
- Traveling out‑of‑town and out‑of‑state to visit project sites and clients
- Work closely with and learn from the organization’s owners and other senior members
- Contribute to the development of those around you
- Suggest and establish new processes and practices that will help bring additional efficiencies to the organization and its clients
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Construction Management or another related field
- Strong knowledge of the construction industry, including construction contracts, material, equipment, project scheduling, oversight, and financial acumen
- Ability to work in a fast‑pace environment; ability to multi‑task effectively; ability to maintain attention to detail
- Strong written and oral communication, and negotiation skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Procore and Excel
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree
