DIRECTOR OF PRECONSTRUCTION – HVAC CONSTRUCTION

We’re seeking a Director of Preconstruction to lead our estimating and pursuit strategy. This role oversees all preconstruction activities—from bid strategy to pricing accuracy—ensuring that every pursuit aligns with company goals and client expectations.

Lead estimating teams and manage the full preconstruction process for all bids.

Develop SOPs, historical cost databases, and review gates for quality assurance.

Oversee conceptual through GMP estimates and ensure scope alignment.

Build relationships with GCs, vendors, and clients to strengthen partnerships.

Lead project turnover meetings and support change-order pricing.

Mentor estimating staff and oversee training, performance, and career development.

You’ll define how we pursue and win work—setting the foundation for our operational success. Your leadership will ensure every estimate is accurate, competitive, and strategically positioned.

8–12+ years of HVAC/MEP estimating experience, 3+ years leading teams.

Deep knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA, IMC, and energy codes.

Expertise in GMP and design-build project delivery.

Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid, Quote Soft, Plan Swift, Bluebeam).

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management preferred.

PE/EIT, LEED AP, or OSHA 30 a plus.
