The Estimatorplaysacriticalroleinthesuccessofourprojectsbypreparingaccuratebudgets,cost estimates,andbidproposalsthatreflectboththescopeofworkandourcompany’scommitmenttoprecision,integrity,andclientservice.
Thispositionrequiresstrongtechnicalknowledgeofconstructionmeansandmethods,aswellastheabilitytocollaboratewithprojectmanagers,architects,engineers,andsubcontractorstoensurereliablepricingandriskassessment.
- Preconstruction and Budgeting
- Prepare conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP estimates.
- Develop detailed take-offs, quantity surveys, and cost breakdowns across all CSI divisions.
- Identify value engineering options and alternatives to enhance cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Bid Management
- Solicit, review, and analyze subcontractor and vendor proposals.
- Ensure bids are complete, comparable, and aligned with project documents.
- Maintain subcontractor database and support ongoing prequalification efforts.
- Project Support
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents during hand-off to ensure a seamless transition from preconstruction to construction.
- Assist in scope clarifications, buyout, and change order pricing throughout the project lifecycle.
- Evaluate site conditions, logistics, and potential risks to incorporate into estimates.
- Process and Reporting
- Maintain estimating templates, historical cost data, and cost catalogs.
- Track and report on estimate accuracy, bid performance, and cost drivers.
- Provide executive summaries, variance reports, and risk assessments for leadership review.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred).
- 3–7 years of relevant estimating experience with a General Contractor, Construction Manager, or Developer.
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Procore Estimating, Sage Estimating, Plan Swift/On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
