We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful delivery of residential ground-up construction projects throughout Florida. The ideal candidate will assist the Project Manager with project coordination, scheduling, permitting, subcontractor communication, budgeting, and document management from preconstruction through closeout.
This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in residential construction management while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple active projects.
Key Responsibilities Project Coordination- Assist Project Managers with day-to-day management of multiple residential construction projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
- Track project schedules and milestones.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure all files are current.
- Assist with project closeout documentation.
- Update and maintain project schedules.
- Prepare weekly project updates and look-ahead schedules.
- Track critical path activities.
- Monitor subcontractor progress against schedule.
- Assist with preparing and reviewing pay applications.
- Track subcontractor invoices and purchase orders.
- Assist with change order documentation.
- Update Schedule of Values (SOV).
- Track permit applications and approval status.
- Schedule municipal inspections.
- Coordinate with local municipalities throughout Florida.
- Follow up on outstanding permit comments.
- Communicate with subcontractors regarding schedules and outstanding items.
- Prepare meeting minutes.
- Follow up on action items.
- Assist with owner reporting.
- Maintain organized electronic project files.
- Prepare contracts and subcontractor packages.
- Track Certificates of Insurance.
- Track lien releases and compliance documents.
- Prepare reports using Excel.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in:
- Construction Management
- Civil Engineering
- Related field
- Equivalent construction experience may be considered.
- 1–3 years of experience in:
- Residential Construction
- Construction Coordination
Experience with new construction is preferred.
Required Technical Skills Microsoft Excel (Advanced)Must be proficient with:

Knowledge of Florida construction practices is preferred.

By the end of the first 90 days, the successful candidate should be able to:
- Independently manage project documentation for multiple residential projects.
- Maintain accurate Buildertrend schedules and project records.
- Prepare weekly project status reports and Excel tracking logs.
- Coordinate permit submissions and inspection scheduling.
- Assist with subcontractor coordination and follow-up.
- Support Project Managers in keeping projects on schedule and within budget.
- Communicate professionally with municipalities, consultants, subcontractors, and owners.
