Senior Manager of Construction

A rapidly scaling infrastructure platform is seeking an experienced and execution-focused Senior Manager of Construction to support the delivery of large-scale hyperscale and AI-ready data center developments from contract execution through project completion. This individual will play a key role in prime contractor management, active project execution, and day-to-day construction oversight across mission-critical data center developments.

This role requires direct data center construction experience, along with a strong background in general contracting, construction operations, and high-performance project delivery environments. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience managing contractors, supporting bid and commercial processes, and driving field execution with a focus on safety, quality, schedule, cost, scalability, and speed.

• Support the evaluation, selection, and bid process for prime contractors across active and upcoming data center construction projects
• Participate in commercial and contract negotiations under AIA agreements in partnership with senior leadership, legal, and finance teams
• Conduct technical interviews and evaluations of contractors, vendors, and project partners
• Manage day-to-day relationships with prime contractors throughout the full construction lifecycle
• Oversee on-site execution of hyperscale and mission-critical data center developments, ensuring schedule, budget, quality, and safety targets are achieved
• Coordinate internal and external project teams across engineering, operations, contractors, consultants, and vendors
• Manage change order workflows, RFIs, submittals, project documentation, and stakeholder alignment
• Track construction progress, identify project risks, and elevate critical schedule, cost, or execution issues as needed
• Provide regular reporting on project milestones, schedule, budget, contractor performance, and overall delivery status
• Support the transition from preconstruction into active field execution, ensuring strong operational alignment and documentation control
• Assist with commissioning, turnover, closeout, and operational readiness activities
• Drive contractor accountability and consistent execution standards across assigned projects

• 7+ years of construction management or general contracting experience, with direct data center construction experience required
• Demonstrated experience delivering hyperscale, colocation, or other large-scale data center projects
• Strong experience managing general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and construction partners
• Experience supporting data center projects through the full construction lifecycle, from contractor selection and mobilization through commissioning and turnover
• Working knowledge of AIA contracts, bid management, procurement, RFIs, submittals, and change order processes
• Strong understanding of mission-critical MEP infrastructure, including electrical distribution, backup power, cooling, controls, and commissioning
• Proven ability to manage complex construction schedules, budgets, and field execution in fast-paced data center environments
• Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving capabilities
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to schedule, cost, quality, safety, and project risk
• Experience with construction management platforms such as Procore, Primavera P6, or MS Project
