Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support construction projects across commercial, industrial, offices, and multi-family sectors. The APM will assist Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and delivering projects on time, on budget, and to quality and safety standards. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with tilt wall/tilt-up concrete construction or general industrial construction experience and a strong understanding of general contractor operations.
Key Responsibilities- Support Project Managers in day-to-day project coordination and administration across commercial, industrial, office, and multi-family projects including mid-rise and high-rise buildings.
- Assist in managing tilt wall/tilt-up and concrete scope activities, coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure sequencing and quality.
- Prepare and maintain project schedules, track progress, and escalate delays; collaborate with scheduling resources to update critical path and milestone dates.
- Monitor project budgets and cost reports, process subcontractor and vendor invoices, assist with change order documentation and cost forecasting.
- Coordinate procurement and logistics for materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to meet construction sequences.
- Participate in site meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and client communications; produce meeting minutes and follow-up actions.
- Support health, safety, and quality control efforts on site; assist with safety plans, inspections, and corrective actions to maintain compliance.
- Maintain project documentation and drawings using project management software (e.g., Procore or similar); ensure document control and accurate record keeping.
- Assist with permit coordination, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Prepare progress reports, RFIs, submittals, and other project correspondence; support closeout activities and punchlist resolution.
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in construction project administration or field engineering with exposure to tilt wall/tilt-up and commercial or industrial construction.
- Familiarity with general contractor operations, subcontractor management, and commercial/industrial building types (office, multi-family, mid-rise, high-rise).
- Proven ability to read construction drawings, schedules, and specifications; strong attention to detail.
- Experience with project management software (Procore, Prolog, Plan Grid or similar) and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and resolve issues proactively.
- Working knowledge of construction safety standards; OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.
- Ability to work both in the office and on job sites, including regular site visits and hands-on coordination.
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities under tight timelines.
