Hart Mechanical Contractors is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated
Junior Estimator
to join our growing team in Miami, Florida.
This position provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to gain hands‑on experience in mechanical construction estimating while working alongside experienced estimators, project managers, and operational leaders. The Junior Estimator will support the preconstruction process through plan review, quantity takeoffs, pricing analysis, and estimate preparation for commercial mechanical construction projects.
The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and eager to develop expertise in HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical construction systems.
What You'll DoPlan Review & Quantity Takeoffs- Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents to understand project scope
- Assist with quantity takeoffs for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related mechanical systems
- Identify material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor requirements
- Assist in identifying scope gaps, discrepancies, and estimating risks
- Develop an understanding of mechanical construction means, methods, and industry standards
- Gather, compare, and verify vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Assist with developing preliminary project cost estimates
- Maintain estimating databases and pricing information
- Track labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations for completeness and competitiveness
- Work closely with estimators, project managers, and field leadership
- Participate in bid reviews and proposal development
- Learn industry standards and estimating best practices
- Support process improvement initiatives that enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency
- 2 years of experience in construction, estimating, engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, or demonstrated ability and willingness to learn
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Ability to learn quantity takeoff and estimating software
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities

This is a full-time onsite position located in Miami, FL (33186). Candidates must be able to work from the office on a daily basis.
