Miami Children's Museum is seeking an imaginative and enthusiastic Theater Teaching Artist to inspire the next generation of storytellers, performers, and creative thinkers. This role is perfect for someone who loves theater, enjoys working with children, and thrives in creative, collaborative environments.

As a member of our teaching artist team, you'll lead engaging theater experiences that encourage confidence, self‑expression, teamwork, and creativity through acting, improvisation, storytelling, and performance while helping students bring their ideas to life both on and off the stage.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead engaging theater classes focused on acting, storytelling, improvisation, movement, and stage presence.
  • Create age-appropriate lessons that encourage creativity, confidence, and self‑expression.
  • Guide students through character development, storytelling exercises, and performance preparation.
  • Direct rehearsals and assist with showcases, productions, and special performances.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports artistic exploration and growth.
  • Collaborate with fellow teaching artists to create meaningful interdisciplinary arts experiences.
  • Participate in planning meetings, performances, and special events as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience in theater education, acting, directing, performing arts, or related fields.
  • Experience working with children in schools, camps, museums, community programs, or arts organizations preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Creative, collaborative, and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning.
  • Passion for youth development, storytelling, and arts‑based education.
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to support performances and special events.
Schedule

Part‑Time After school Position

  • Weekdays approximately 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
  • Additional hours may be required for rehearsals, showcases, performances, and special events
