Job Summary

The Wolfsonian is currently seeking a Temporary Multimedia Producer to join their team of professionals. To support the museum's digital storytelling and social media efforts. Hosted by the museum's Content + Interpretation department, this position will assist with creating, editing, and organizing original content for The Wolfsonian's social media platforms. The role includes filming and photographing objects, exhibitions, and events; editing videos, reels, photos, and audio;

and contributing creative ideas that make the museum's collection more accessible, engaging, and relevant to online audiences. The position requires a strong interest in storytelling, visual culture, film production, and digital media. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with staff across departments while also completing assigned projects independently. This role is ideal for someone who is creative, organized, self-motivated, and comfortable producing content in a museum or cultural setting.

Duties
  • Supports the creation of social media content.
  • Films and photographs artworks, exhibitions, programs, and events for use across digital platforms.
  • Edits videos, reels, photos, and audio for social media.
  • Develops creative content ideas that connect online audiences to the museum's mission, collection, exhibitions, and programs.
  • Collaborates with staff across departments to gather content and support digital storytelling initiatives.
  • Organizes archival and digital media materials for use in social media and content projects.
  • Assists with shaping clear, engaging stories for public audiences.
  • Supports digital projects and other related content needs as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field and two (2) years of experience in related field; OR six (6) years of experience in related field; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience with video editing.
  • Interest in storytelling, visual culture, digital media, and film production.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and how cultural institutions engage audiences online.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere and Photoshop.
  • Experience with photography, design, or other areas of media production.
  • Prior experience creating content for social media platforms.
  • Interest in museums, art, design, history, or cultural storytelling.
