Shape the Next Generation of Dance Artists

New World School of the Arts (NWSA) at Miami Dade College is seeking an accomplished Ballet Dance Faculty member to join its nationally recognized, professionally focused dance program. This full-time faculty position offers the opportunity to teach and mentor talented dancers at both the high school and Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) levels, while contributing artistically and academically to a dynamic conservatory-style environment.

The ideal candidate brings advanced expertise in ballet, a passion for developing emerging artists, and a commitment to excellence in dance education, choreography, performance, and student mentorship.

• Teach all levels of ballet within the NWSA high school and BFA college programs.
• Choreograph and/or stage dance works and serve as a rehearsal director for departmental productions.
• Mentor, evaluate, and advise students in their artistic and academic development.
• Participate in auditions, juries, performances, conferences, recruitment activities, and other department initiatives.
• Contribute to the development and revision of curriculum to support a rigorous, professionally focused dance education.
• Support student recruitment and help identify promising emerging dance artists.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, guest artists, and the broader artistic community.
• Participate in departmental, campus, and College-wide programs, activities, and committees.
• Attend performances and participate in relevant state and national conferences.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Dance program and NWSA mission.

Candidates must possess:

• A Master’s degree in Dance from a regionally accredited institution; or
• A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Dance.
• Strong knowledge of ballet technique and the ability to teach students across multiple levels of artistic development.
• Familiarity with collaborative learning techniques and student-centered instructional methods.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills.
• The ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and the community in a diverse, multicultural environment.
• Flexibility to accommodate auditions, juries, advisement, recruitment, rehearsals, performances, and other departmental and school activities.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends.

This is a full-time Faculty (FAC) position. An annual contract reflecting the applicable base salary within Miami Dade College’s fiscal year of July 1 through June 30 will be issued following ratification by the College’s District Board of Trustees.

A doctoral stipend is awarded in addition to the base salary, when applicable.
