WLRN Public Media is seeking a Digital Content Editor to help shape and elevate our programming and storytelling across broadcast and digital platforms. This role sits at the intersection of editorial judgment, audience strategy, and platform fluency - guiding how our content lives beyond broadcast and reaches audiences wherever they are.
From original documentaries and local storytelling to PBS programming and community engagement, this position ensures WLRN’s digital presence reflects the depth, diversity, and relevance of South Florida.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage versioning and delivery of promotional assets across broadcast and digital channels
Edit and produce broadcast promos, image spots, and short-form on-air content that support WLRN’s programming and brand
- Develop and execute a cohesive digital content strategy across web, app, You Tube, social media, and streaming platforms
- Translate broadcast programming into compelling digital experiences, including clips, articles, and platform-native content
- Identify opportunities to extend the life and reach of WLRN productions through digital distribution
- Manage versioning and delivery of promotional assets across broadcast and digital channels
- Serve as the editorial lead for digital content, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with WLRN’s voice and mission
- Write, edit, and publish content including program descriptions, articles, newsletters, and promotional copy
- Maintain high standards for storytelling, accuracy, tone, and audience engagement
- Oversee publishing and optimization of television content on WLRN Digital Properties, You Tube, and other distribution platforms
- Manage metadata, SEO, thumbnails, and descriptions to maximize discoverability and performance
- Monitor platform trends and evolving best practices to keep WLRN-TV competitive and relevant
- Analyze performance metrics and audience behavior to inform content decisions
- Collaborate with marketing and membership teams to support campaigns, including pledge drives and events
- Develop strategies to deepen engagement, increase streaming usage, and grow digital audiences
- Create short form broadcast content and digital-first video content, including clips, trailers, and social edits
- Oversee captioning, formatting, and delivery standards for digital distribution
- Ensure content is optimized for each platform’s technical and audience expectations
- Partner with programming, production, marketing, and education teams to align digital efforts across the organization
- Manage content calendars and coordinate timely releases tied to premieres, events, and campaigns
- 3-5+ years of experience in digital content, editorial, or media production
- Strong writing and editing skills with a clear, engaging voice
- Experience managing content across multiple digital platforms (You Tube, CMS, social media, streaming apps)
- Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, You Tube Studio, etc.) and SEO best practices
- Understanding of video production workflows and digital distribution standards
- Ability to balance creative storytelling with data-driven decision making
- Experience in public media or mission-driven organizations preferred
- A sharp editorial instinct-you know what makes a story land
