Senior Social Media Producer
to support the daily social media operation of our national Spanish-language streaming news platform. This is a hands-on role for a digital journalist who understands breaking news, audience behavior, and social-first storytelling.

Essential Functions

• Work closely with the Social Media Editor to execute the daily editorial and publishing strategy across Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, X, You Tube, and emerging platforms.
• Produce, edit, write, and publish engaging social-first content, including short-form videos, graphics, headlines, captions, clips, thumbnails, and live updates.
• Lead social media coverage during assigned shifts, breaking-news events, live programming, and special coverage.
• Help assign and coordinate daily content with Social Media Producers, editors, graphic designers, reporters, anchors, and newsroom producers.
• Identify trending topics, viral conversations, and opportunities to expand the reach of the newsroom’s reporting.
• Repackage television and streaming content into engaging digital formats designed specifically for social audiences.
• Monitor audience engagement and platform performance, using analytics to improve content and publishing decisions.
• Stay current on emerging platforms, AI tools, social media trends, algorithms, and digital storytelling techniques

Required Education and Experience

• Native-level or near-native Spanish writing, editing, and communication skills are required.
• Minimum of3 years of experience producing social media or digital content for a news organization, television network, streaming platform, digital publisher, or major media brand.
• Strong news judgment and an understanding of national news, breaking news, U.S. Hispanic audiences, and major developments across Latin America.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately under tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom.
• Strong understanding of social media algorithms, audience engagement, analytics, and platform best practices.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts during major breaking-news events.
• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, Cap Cut, Canva, or similar content-creation tools.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a Full Time position. Actual schedule and hours may vary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Reports directly to VP Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives for Broadcast
