Visitor Services Associate - Wolfsonian Museum

Job Summary

Visitors Service Associate will be responsible for daily operations of admissions while ensuring the highest level of customer service. Duties include handling phone and email inquiries, conducting surveys, and supporting special projects throughout the museum.

• Perform daily operations at the admissions desk with focus on customer service, organization, and efficiency.
• Facilitate sales transactions using POS systems, handling cash and credit card transactions.
• Assist in the setup and facilitation of special museum events and evening programs, and support events in other departments.
• Provide assistance to Museum Shop and Café visitors, selecting merchandise and preparing food and beverage orders; process all sales transactions and maintain displays and cleanliness.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of exhibitions and services, providing training to visitor service staff and the general public.
• Advocate for visitors while promoting museum welfare, communicating with a variety of visitors, and resolving concerns and complaints satisfactorily.
• Serve as primary contact for merchant account or technical contact for third‑party card processing systems.
• Handle sensitive cardholder information and conduct credit card transactions for the department or unit.

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two (2) years of customer service or related experience.

• Complete and maintain Serve Safe training for food and beverage services within one month of employment.
• Comfortable working with the general public, trustees, members, and donors on the phone and/or in person.
