Clinical Orthodontist Assistant

The Orthodontic Assistant will provide dedicated clinical support to the orthodontist. In this role, your primary focus is hands-on patient interaction, procedure assistance, and maintaining a fluid, safe clinical floor.

• Chairside Assistance: Assist Dr. Sibel Eljach DMD, MS directly in all clinical procedures including bonding brackets, changing archwires, fitting bands, and removing appliances.

  Education:
  
  Prepare patients in the chair, explain active procedures, and provide clear hands-on instruction on oral hygiene and appliance care (e.g., rubber bands, expanders, aligners).
• Diagnostics & Imaging: Take high-quality digital panoramic/cephalometric X-rays, detailed intraoral and facial photos, and accurate 3D digital impressions. We utilize a VaTech pan/ceph CBCT and iTero Lumina for our scans.
• Laboratory Work: Manage the outsourced lab workflow, and in-house 3-D printing of dental models. We fabricate our own next-day Essix retainers.
• Sterilization & Safety: Sterilize and organize clinical instruments. Keep treatment bays clean, sanitized, and fully stocked.

• Certification: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification required in the state of Florida.
• X-Ray Certification: Current Florida Dental Radiography certification is mandatory.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of dedicated orthodontic assistant experience is required.
• Language: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strictly required to effectively serve our neighborhood community.

  Experience with clinical dental photography, 3-D printing workflows, a VaTech pan/ceph CBCT, and the iTero Lumina scanner is highly valued. We use Greyfinch Orthodontic Practice Management Software.
• Soft Skills: Excellent manual dexterity, an outgoing personality, and a gentle, compassionate approach with children, teens, and adults.
