We are looking for a Senior Design Manager to help bring this dream to life as we grow our footprint. This position will provides both creative and technical oversight while contributing directly to project documentation. The role ensures that design intent, documentation quality, and constructability are upheld across all project phases.
The Senior Design Manager translates design, technical, and strategic direction from the VP of Design into clear, actionable deliverables, while mentoring intermediate and junior designers and maintaining high standards of efficiency, accuracy, and design integrity. This role requires a balanced blend of leadership, production expertise, and construction knowledge. In addition, the Senior Design Manager supports the VP of Design in overseeing and managing third-party consultants, ensuring their work is well-coordinated, aligned with project objectives, and delivered to the highest quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and directly participate in design documentation and production, preparing detailed drawings, schedules, and specifications for review by VP of Design.
- Support VP of Design in overseeing and managing all third-party consultants, from selection and onboarding through coordination, performance monitoring, and deliverable review, ensuring their work aligns with project design intent, schedule requirements, and company quality standards.
- Review and redline design and technical documents to ensure alignment with overall design intent, quality standards, and constructability.
- Serve as the primary reviewer for design output before submittal to the VP of Design.
- Interpret and communicate design, technical, and schedule direction from the VP of Design into precise, executable documentation for the design team.
- Provide hands-on mentorship and daily design guidance to intermediate and junior designers, supporting their technical growth and project ownership.
- Support consultant coordination and management, ensuring all disciplines are fully integrated and technically sound.
- Support and execute Construction Administration efforts under the direction of the VP of Design, including RFIs, submittal reviews, field visits, and punch list documentation, to maintain design integrity through project completion.
- Maintain and improve office-wide production standards, drawing templates, and quality control processes.
- Support the VP of Design in scheduling, resource planning, and workload balancing to ensure project efficiency and timely delivery.
- Contribute to ongoing refinement of design workflows and best practices that enhance overall team performance.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - 12–16 years of professional experience in architecture or interior architecture.
- Recent experience in a senior production or documentation leadership role, preferably within hospitality or real estate development.
- Strong technical aptitude.
- Professional licensure/registration as an architect or interior designer in the State of Florida required.
- LEED accreditation preferred.

Skills and Abilities
- Proven ability to lead and manage complete documentation sets from Design Development through Construction Administration (including shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and field observation).
- Strong command of building systems, materials, detailing, and consultant coordination (structural, MEP, lighting, etc.).
- High proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, Enscape, Bluebeam Revu, and Adobe Creative Suite (including Acrobat and Photoshop).
