Position:
Anesthesiologist – Cardiothoracic Experience Preferred.
Location:
Minneapolis VA Health Care System, One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417. Position Type:
Contract | Long-Term, Full-Time (Base Year + Four Option Years). Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary: $700,000/year;
Earning Potential:
Up to $1,100,000 annually (negotiable based on experience, call participation, and coverage scope).
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Excluding Federal Holidays). Estimated
Hours:
80 hours every two weeks. Rotating On‑Call
Schedule:
Collaboratively confirmed. Lunch Break: 30‑minute unpaid.
- Work with a leading VA health system serving veterans

- Respond confidently to anesthesia-related emergencies
- Contribute to educational programs and anesthesia practice improvements
- Follow safety standards, infection control protocols, and federal regulations
Note:
Cardiac device implantation (pacemakers, LVADs, defibrillators) may be involved but is not the primary responsibility.
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Board Certified in Anesthesiology
- Cardiothoracic anesthesia experience preferred
- Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license (any state)
- Proven clinical experience in hospital or surgical settings
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Compassionate, patient-centered care in a high-demand environment
- Knowledge of VA policies and federal regulations desirable
