Job Description The University of Miami Health System, Miller School of Medicine is initiating a search for a Hepatologist at the Assistant/Associate Professor of Medicine level.
Essential Job Functions- Provide direct outpatient care to Hepatology patients primarily at the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics
- Perform routine endoscopic services on Hepatology patients
- Provide inpatient care on a rotating basis on an APP run Hepatology Service
- Participate in on call rotation
- Opportunities to initiate and participate in clinical research studies
- Teaching of residents and fellows
- MD/DO Degree
- ACGME US Internal Medicine residency
- BE/BC in Internal Medicine
- BE/BC in Gastroenterology
- BE/BC in Transplant Hepatology encouraged
- Valid unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply (must have license prior to credentialing)
- Must be able to provide prerequisite case logs for procedures for prior two years for credentialing
- Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques
- Must maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements
- Must have excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care
- Current BLS certification required. ACLS
- Valid DEA licensure
