Assists the Director with a variety of tasks as part of managing the office of a fast-growing area studies program in the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs, including maintaining student records for the undergraduate programs, helping prepare and present reports, coordinating outreach events, maintaining and updating social media and editing a journal, publishing an annual newsletter, and related programmatic activities.
Responsibilities- Provides programmatic and research assistance to the Director in day-to-day operations of the Program. Responds to inquiries from students and faculty, interfacing with administrative and departmental offices.
- Assists with program publications including the annual journal, and the annual newsletter. Assist in preparing reports and Power Point Presentations.
- Assists in the overseeing of student records including Panther Audits and degree certifications.
- Provides assistance to graduate students, especially in Master's Essay and Thesis exit options.
- Prepares requisitions and invoices and Assists with the preparation of workshops/meetings/events.
- Compiles data and prepares reports as requested.
- Assists in maintaining and updating websites and social media in collaboration with SIPA Marketing and Communications Teams.
- Attends to telephone and email requests from faculty and students on a regular basis.
- Orders equipment and materials as needed.
High school diploma or GED and five (5) years of office or related experience providing administrative support, or coordinating functions of an office or department.
Desired QualificationsExperience working in Higher Education.
